PERSONAL INFORMATION

STR collects personal information relating to you including such information as: your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and snowmobile identification. All billing and credit card information is collected by a third party merchant services provider and is not given to STR nor is it stored anywhere in our control.  If you choose to enter contests/giveaways offered my STR, we will collect some contact information from you in order to contact you in the event that you are eligible to win any of the prizes.

STR takes great care to ensure your personal information collected is not shared. Except as required by law, STR will not disclose, sell, rent, trade or otherwise transfer your personal information without your consent except where described below.

STR may be required to share your personal information in the following situations:

• to dispatch a rescue team to your location to answer your call for service
• to our legal counsel
• to law enforcement authorities, if required by law
• to a government agency which can oblige us to do so
• to a person authorized by law
• in emergency situations in which the life, health or safety of a customer is in jeopardy
• to all other persons authorized by law
• to an agent retained by STR in connection with the collection of your account
• to other third parties, where we have your consent or direction to do so
• in response to a subpoena, warrant or other court order
• when we believe in good faith that a law, regulation, subpoena, warrant or other court order requires it or authorizes us to do so or to respond to an emergency situation
• to a third party in the event of a proposed or actual purchase, sale, lease, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal, transfer, conveyance or financing of all or any portion of STR.

STR collects your personal data to better serve you. The data collected is used to:

• Process and set up your membership
• Verify your identity
• Answers your calls for service provided by STR
• Provide you with updates to the membership
• Inform you of new member benefits which are added
• Inform you of upcoming events and promotions
• Communicate with you and answer any inquiries you may have
• Determine your eligibility for discounts
• Administer surveys to better understand your needs and the ways in which we can improve and expand our services
• Comply with legal obligations that we may have

 

RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

STR will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to offer the service it provides. After a period of inactivity on your account, your personal information will be destroyed except where required by law to keep certain information for a prescribed period of time.

• The STR logo and slogans are protected under the copyright laws of Canada and are not to be copied, reproduced, or printed without prior written consent from STR.

STR has legal rights to all pictures on the STR website and any use of these pictures without prior written consent from STR is strictly prohibited.
